Ms. Jeanne Marie Cernik, 96, of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025.

Born on July 4, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, Jeanne's independent spirit and warm heart touched everyone she met. She enjoyed a long and fulfilling career with the Combined Insurance Company of America, where she worked from 1961 until her retirement in 1993. During that time, she also served as President of the Edgewater Business and Professional Women's Club from 1979 to 1980 and was active in several of its committees, including Young Careerist, Advisory, Women of Achievement, and Holiday and Birthday Committees.

After retiring, Jeanne moved to Georgia to be closer to her daughter and family. A devoted and faith-filled woman, she became an active member of Transfiguration Catholic Church, where she participated in the Adoration, Transfiguration QT's, Women in Faith, and Friendship Circle ministries, serving twice as president of the Friendship Circle.

A proud breast cancer survivor, Jeanne exemplified strength, grace, and optimism throughout her life. She loved to travel, especially with family and friends, and was known for her joyful laughter and ability to make others feel loved and valued.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Joseph Short; her beloved husband, Eugene Cernik; her brother, Joseph (Virginia) Short; her daughter, Mary Jean Cernik; and her cousin, Richard Bieler.

She is survived by her daughter Cheryl (Frank) Nadolski; grandchildren Jennifer (Paul) Hanson and Kevin (Stephanie) Nadolski; cousin Kathy (Ken) Siegl; cousin Arlinda Metz Bieler; and many other cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Jeanne's faith, warmth, and laughter will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 11 am at Transfiguration Catholic Church.
