Jeannine E. Powell, 88, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, surrounded by her loving children.
Born in Biddeford, Maine, on November 13, 1936, Jeannine was the daughter of Pierre and Lilliane (Gosselin). She attended St. André schools and later completed college coursework. Over the years, she worked in manufacturing for various companies, bringing dedication and a strong work ethic to every role.
On May 13, 1961, she married Bliss R. Powell of Portland. Together they raised three children: Kenneth B. Powell, Scott J. Powell, and Lynne Powell Jewett. Jeannine was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith and remained an active member of her church throughout her life.
She cherished time spent with family and friends, especially when it involved board games or outdoor projects-her favorite way to enjoy nature and stay busy.
Jeannine is survived by her son, Scott Powell; her daughter and son-in-law, Lynne and Allan Jewett; her sisters, Doris Gray and Cecile Daudier; her brothers, Norman, and Albert Gosselin; five grandchildren, Jade, Allan, Randi, Kelsea, and Mackenzie; and her great-grandson, Carter. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ronny; her son, Kenney; and her brother Joseph.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
