"The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him". Proverbs 20:7 (KJV)
It is with profound sadness that the family of Jeconiah Hayes Conway Sr. (34), of Crowley, Louisiana, announces their beloved husband and father passed away tragically in Biloxi, Mississippi on Saturday, May 27, 2023.
Jeconiah, fondly known as Jay, was born to the proud parents of DeShella Lynette Conway and Levy G'Waine Collins, on August 2, 1988, in New Iberia, Louisiana.
Jay is survived by his wife Marquita and five children, Javion, Jaelin, Jordan, August and Jeconiah Junior. Also, he is survived by his father, Levy G' Waine Collins (Kimberly C. Collins); grandparents, Levy and Belinda Collins; stepfather (dad), Cory J. Shaw Sr. (Melissa Shaw), and siblings Japhiniah Conway, Jonshelia Conway, Jamecia Shaw, Jasmine Shaw, Conner King, Cory Shaw, Jr., G'iona Collins, Jeremey Collins, Aaron Bobb, Jhalen Bobb and Ariel Bobb. Jay was predeceased by his mother, DeShella Lynette Conway Shaw; grandparents, Junius and Evelyn Conway and his grandparent Delores Bonnet.
No matter what may have been thrown his way, Jay wanted his life to be different than what was being presented, from losing his mother at the age of sixteen, Jay's willpower and dedication gave him the drive to graduate from Westgate High School in 2006 and continued to better his circumstance with every footstep he took.
Jay was an innovator, an entrepreneur that had the ability to recognize opportunities. Rather than settling Jay continued to seek new opportunities to explore different ventures for his family, he was very resilient. He had the most important ingredient, the drive to succeed. He was able to transform his ideas into a fully operational business that launched Rhoyalty Lawn Care, LLC. Jay reflects perseverance; very persistence regardless of challenges or obstacles, he perseveres through it all to provide for his family that he loved. Jay lived by 2 Thessalonians 3:10 "For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat." He wanted to leave a legacy behind for his children so he strived to build his lawn care business so that his children could prosper from his hard work.
He was bound to a covenant of unconditional love for his family, embodied by the principles and biblical teaching from The Most High. Jay was a man who modeled what he preached in his home. He was a man of love, honor, and excellent morals. Jay saw the world differently when he found his soul mate. He would call his wife "His Rib" and say, "The Most High knew what he was doing when he put you on my path". Jay loved his wife without reservation. Jay knew things that he had to instill in his four boys could never be taught in school. Jay would leap over obstacles to protect his family from whatever the world may have thrown their way.
Jay knew the greatest storms in a child's heart are calmed by the loving waves in the sea of a father's love and Jay loved his children.
Jay enjoyed playing video games with his kids. He was active in martial arts during his childhood and with the same interest as their father, his children were active in martial art as well. He was studious all through school. He enjoyed reading books and newspaper articles. As he matured, he grew to like football. His favorite team was the New Orleans Saints. During his high school years, he ran track for James E. Taylor High School, he enjoyed running the 4 x 400 relay. Jay loved cooking for his family, he was known to throw down on the grill, you couldn't tell him anything when it came to grilling, he was the king. Some of his favorite dishes were oxtail and rice, red beans and rice and gumbo, he would turn every dish into a masterpiece. He was very frugal; if he didn't have to buy it, he would make it. Jay loved music, especially rapping and reciting lyrics from his favorite artist "Lil Wayne". He loved family vacations, especially the beaches, amusement parks and state fairs. His joy truly came from seeing his children laugh and play and most importantly enjoy themselves. Jay would tell his family don't let no-one take your flavor!
From Jay to his family:
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good
works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16

My husband and I met Jay and the three older boys by his lawn service. I was so very impressed at him being a Godly man and the manner in which he set the exemplary example of how to be a good human being. Never was he nothing but positive and always smiling. I will miss him and the boys. It was a joy to get to know you. God bless...love and prayers, Mr Tom and Mrs Sue Ann
