Jefferey D. McQuerrey age 60, resident of Galion, passed away Tuesday morning, August 6, 2024, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus following a brief illness.
Born August 12, 1963, in Marion, Ohio, to James Ronald McQuerrey and Ramona Maxine (Osborne) Ricketts, Jeff lived in Marion for 45 years before moving to Galion in 2008. He graduated from Marion Harding/Tri Rivers High School in 1981 and held a position at Energy Technologies, Inc. in Mansfield for the last 14 years.
An avid outdoorsman, he was happiest when on the Delaware River fishing for Crappies or hunting for mushrooms. Jeff also enjoyed Pheasant hunting, tending to his vegetable garden, and woodworking. He deeply loved animals and found joy in watching and feeding birds. Jeff also cherished the time spent with his two beloved dogs, Ellie and Luke, and his two dear cats, Nova and Luna.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years Stacy (Atherton) Mcquerrey, whom he wed May 31, 2009, three stepchildren, Andrew Shane Robertson of Galion, Patrick Alexander Robertson of Galion, and Alan Mathew Robertson of Loudonville. Sister Monica Thomas of Marion, brother-in-law and cherished friend Robert Thomas of Marion, his father James Ronald Mcquerrey of Marion, Uncles and Aunts Jim Osborne wife Barb of Morral, Nelson Puffenbarger wife Kathy of Yadkinville NC, Walt Edmond wife Becky of Leesburg FL. Nieces Jessica Byerly husband Jon of Mansfield, Melody Thomas of Marion, Stephanie Tilley husband Asch of Morral, Jennifer Cox husband Jim of Marionl. Nephews Kris Thomas of Marion, James Thomas of Marysville, Joseph Thacker of West Mansfield. Cousin Jamie Osborne wife Andrea of New Bloomington. He had eight great nephews and four great nieces.
He was proceeded in death by his mother Ramona, sister Tammy Thacker, nieces Heidi and Rebecca Thomas.
Per Jeff's wishes, services will not be observed. His family will hold a private celebration of his life at a later date.
In place of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Crawford County Humane Society at 3590 OH-98, Bucyrus, OH 44820.
