Jefferson U. “Jeff” Lawson, 62, of Albany, GA died Friday, November 3, 2023 at Houston Health Care. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 6:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home. Mr. Ross Powell will officiate.
Born February 7, 1961 to Thomas L. and Rose M. Lawson in Jacksonville, FL, His family moved to Albany, GA and then to Key West, FL when he was in the seventh grade. He also lived in Macon and then in Jacksonville, FL where he joined the United States Navy.
After serving his Country, he moved back to Albany in 1986 and worked for Proctor & Gamble, Fairway Toyota and other auto dealerships before opening his own company, Lawson Auto Sales and Lawson Auto Credit and Rental.
Jeff always enjoyed being on the water and boating. He was an avid golfer (often referred as a good little golfer). Jeff starting playing regularly at Radium Springs and was a member of Riverpoint Golf Club.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Lawson of Albany, GA, his children, Shauna (David) Simonds of Erlanger, KY, Jefferson (Alexis) Cory of Byron, GA and Mason Frierson of Hixon, TN, his siblings, Lamar (Lisa) Lawson of Naples, FL, Alethea (Bruce) Lawson of Atlanta, GA, Theresa (Mark) Hencely of Cochran, GA, Joe (April) Lawson of Unadilla, GA, Daphne Lawson of Hawkinsville, GA, Marnie (Marc) Griffin of Byron, GA, and his grandchildren, Camryn Simonds , Cailyn Simonds, Lyndon Lawson, and Tucker Bartlett.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.
