Jeffrey Darrell Atwood, age 65, of Osseo, and formerly of Muskegon, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Hillsdale Hospital. He was born December 29, 1958, in Muskegon, to Clarence and Margaret "Peggy" (Maus) Atwood. Jeff married Yvonne Price on May 17, 1997, and she survives.
Jeff graduated from North Muskegon High School in 1977, and he went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force from 1978-1983. For over 20 years, he worked as a field service technician for Verizon Wireless. Jeff was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hudson. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed boating on Bird Lake, fishing, hunting, and gardening. Jeff also was an avid reader and talented woodworker. He especially enjoyed time with his family playing cards and fishing in Canada with his Dad.
In addition to his wife, Yvonne Atwood, Jeff is survived by four siblings, Fred (Carolyn) Atwood, Charles "Robin" (Jane) Atwood, Gene (Jan) Atwood, and Cheri (Jeff) Goddard; and several nieces and nephews.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Lyle "Rodney" Atwood.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Jeffrey Atwood will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hudson with Fr. Todd Koenigsknecht as celebrant. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Graveside services with military honors will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Jefferson Township beginning at 2:00 P.M.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hillsdale College or the American Diabetes Association.
