Jeffrey E. Hawks, 82, of Bluffton SC passed away on Sunday, May 26th at this home surrounded by his devoted wife Jan and his son JC. Born in Chicago, Il, Jeff made his way to Ohio where he met Jan. They were married in 1981 and with Jan's support, Jeff soon thereafter started his own industrial pump distribution company, Buckeye Pumps. Buckeye Pumps became very successful and is still operating today in conjunction with OTC Industrial Technologies. Jeff and Jan moved to Sun City Hilton Head in 2006 where they immediately made fast friends and became very involved in the community. Jeff was the co-founder of the Sun City Buckeye Group which boosts over 400 active members today. Jeff was also a member of several Masonic lodges, an avid pickleball player and a classic car enthusiast, winning many awards showcasing his classic cars over the years. Jeff is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jan; his sons David Hawks, James Charles Hawks (daughter-in-law Alejandra) and Michael Todd; his daughter Heidi Baird (son-in-law John Baird); and 7 grandchildren Eileen, Sarah Ruth, Lucy, Colby, Logan, Eric, and Vincent. He was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Glen Hawks.
On Friday, June 7th, at 12:00, there will be a Freemason service at Saul's Funeral Home, followed by the funeral and interment at The Historic Church of the Cross on May River at 2:00pm. A light reception will be held in the church hall immediately following the services.
Jeff was a friend to all and known to be a gentleman.
