Jeffrey Patrick McCarrel passed away on Wednesday, May 28th at the age of 69 after an aggressive cancer diagnosis. Jeff was a long time employee of the Indianapolis Star and later transitioned into Property Management with Realty World Harbert Company.
Jeff cherished many summers at Lake Shafer with his friends and family, thoroughly enjoyed listening to Jimmy Buffett, rooted for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and avidly watched Bones, CSI, House and Blue Bloods.
Jeff was survived by his wife Wendy (Bartley), his daughters Shannon and Sonja McCarrel, sons in law Isaac Warren and Keith Schuh, his grandsons Lincoln and Archer Warren, Koen and Atlas Schuh and his sisters Bridget, Cecilia, and Moira. Jeff was preceded in death by Patricia Mills (mother), W. Joe Mills (stepfather), Gerald McCarrel (father), John Kevin McCarrel (brother) and many beloved family dogs.
Contributions can be made to Indy Humane in Jeff’s name.
Jeff’s life will be celebrated on Saturday June 7th from
1:00 - 5:00 pm at Shannon and Isaac’s house located at 4511 Thornleigh Drive Indianapolis IN 46226
