Jeffrey W. Merrick of Grafton died Wednesday, April 3rd, surrounded by his family.
Jeff was born January 15, 1947 in Worcester, son of Hallet Thorpe Merrick and June Augusta (Hall) Merrick. He graduated from Grafton High School in 1964, afterwards serving in the Navy in the Vietnam war era. He delivered parcels for UPS for 30 years. After retirement, he drove for Knight’s Limousine service for many more years. Jeff was well known in the area for his prowess on the softball field, bowling lanes and golf courses, scoring a hole-in-one at Blissful Meadows in 2018. He enjoyed spending time at the casino or eating out with Shirley.
Jeff leaves behind his loving partner of thirty years, Shirley Wandland of Grafton, his son, Shawn Merrick and his wife, Dominique of Charlton; two grandchildren, Gabriella and Jasmine Merrick, his brother Hal and his wife Pauline Merrick of Danielson, CT, Shirley’s children, Tara Emco-Phaneuf, Tanya and Chuck Magnuson, Travis and Erika Wandland and grandchildren, Zachary, Mackenzie, David, Charlene, Ava, Ryder and Nadia, a sister-in-law Jane Merrick of Florence, OR, two nephew's and a niece, Sean Merrick and his wife, Crystal of Brookfield, Hal Merrick and his wife, Candice of Millbury and Brenda Trifone of Millbury, and many other family members and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Keith Merrick.
Family and friends will remember Jeff’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Saturday, April 13th from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury. His funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
