Jeffrey Robert Rayburn Sr., a beloved member of the Columbus community, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on February 19, 1964, in Columbus, Ohio, he grew to embody the traits of independence and quiet strength that characterized him throughout his life.
Jeffrey was a proud graduate of Independence High School, Class of 1982, and he found a fulfilling career as a certified Diesel Mechanic. His commitment to his craft was evident, and he took great pride in working with cars, often sharing his skills with those around him.
Outside of his professional life, Jeffrey was known for his love of sports. He embraced various activities, particularly bowling, poker, golf, and softball, which brought him joy and camaraderie. He was a laid-back and minimalist individual, setting him apart in a world often filled with excess.
Jeffrey's enduring spirit will be cherished by his family. He is survived by his mother, Mary Catherine Rayburn; daughter, Katrisha Rayburn; and son, Jeffrey Robert Rayburn Jr. He also leaves behind sons Hunter Nathan Rayburn and his siblings, Richard Rayburn Jr. and Catherine Moline. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Melvin Rayburn Sr., along with many aunts and uncles who will be missed by all who knew them.
A viewing will be held on October 2, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Families First at Edwards, located at 1166 Parsons Ave, Columbus, OH 43206. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to come and pay their respects, celebrating the life of a man who touched many hearts with his friendship and kindness.
