Jeffrey Jonathan Redfield, 69, a resident of North Salem and formerly of Stormville, passed away on July 27, 2025 at his home.

Born in Glen Cove, NY on May 22, 1956, he was the son of the late Donald Lyman Redfield, and raised by his stepfather Al Safford and his mother Patricia Atherton Thomas Redfield. He graduated from Wittenburg University and received his master's degree from Ohio State University. Jeff's boundless energy and determination led to a successful consulting career at IBM and Pricewaterhouse Coopers, before turning to real estate at Houlihan Lawrence in retirement. He was a Board Member for the Putnam Hospital Center and the PHC Foundation Board.

Jeff's passion was his stewardship of the family's 80-acre property in Stormville, known to friends and family simply as "Put." Jeff vacationed at Put when he was growing up, staying in cabins ordered from the Sears Roebuck catalog and built by hand by his grandfather. He fulfilled a childhood dream of owning Put, and made endless improvements to the property including a stunning barn, brand new main house, European style garden, maple syrup sugar shack, solar panels, beehives and miles of trails named after his children, nieces and nephews. His signature charm extended to the many who worked on and visited the property, where he delighted in entertaining and providing visitors with tours via Segue scooters, accompanied by an evolving herd of dogs, cats and chickens.

Jeff's favorite pastime was hiking and he had recently begun pursuing another lifelong ambition of visiting as many national parks as possible. He visited Acadia, Shenandoah, New River Gorge, Yellowstone and Glacier and had plans to visit Utah's Mighty 5 this fall. He was known to humble brag about his step counts from hikes, and recently logged a staggering 42,790 steps, 18.6 miles and climbed the equivalent of 179 flights of stairs on his last day in Glacier. Jeff was always up for adventure and was rewarded with thrilling experiences, including a spring trip to Cabo where he witnessed a whale breaching below his ultralight aircraft.

In May, Jeff marked his 69th birthday with a visit to Put with family and friends, and spent quality time playing with his grandchildren.

Jeff is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Paige and Chuck Joseph of West Hartford, CT, and Katherine and Sheldon Chan of Boston, MA; his grandchildren, Morgan and Campbell Joseph; and his brothers, Scott Redfield and his wife Sandra, and Bryan Redfield. He was predeceased by his mother, Patricia Redfield; his step father, Al Safford; and his grandfather, Winthrop Atherton Thomas.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 8th from 3 - 6 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday, August 9th at 10 am at the funeral home.
