A funeral service for Jeffrey Wayne Switzer, 63, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at the Impact Church in Wheatland, Wyoming with Pastor Jeremy Haroldson officiating.
Jeffrey Switzer passed away from pancreatic cancer on Thursday, July 27, 2023 in Wheatland, Wyoming. He was born Saturday, May 14, 1960 in Watertown, New York to Marguerite (Randall) And Howard Switzer. Jeff graduated from South Jefferson Central High School in June of 1978. He joined the United States Army and Served in Panama.
He and lifelong friend, Than Harrington, spent their school years hunting and trapping. Jeff trained hunt trial champion Labrador retrievers and later German Shepard security dogs.
After the military he farmed and trained horses in South Dakota then pursued his paramedic license and became a firefighter/paramedic which led him to Alaska then finally to Cheyenne. He then worked at Camp Guernsey as a firefighter.
He enjoyed everything outdoors, participating in the Cowboy State Games in kayaking, and was skilled in wood working and building log houses. His latest passion was E-biking.
He is survived by his wife, Shana; daughter, Laura; and sons, Josh, Jason, and Westin.
His ashes will be scattered on the mountain at a later date.
Gorman Funeral Homes - Platte Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
