Jeffrey D. "Red" Wright, of Elwood, Indiana, passed away on September 18, 2025. Born in Lebanon, Indiana on August 21, 1953, Red lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and love for family and friends.

Red was a lifelong construction worker and car detailer, spending several years working at Kutche in Elwood and later operating his own car detailing business from his home. A dedicated worker, he was known for his meticulous attention to detail and the pride he took in a job well done. Outside of his work, Red was an ardent fan of the Florida Gators and the Cubs. His love for the Cubs was so profound that seeing them win the World Series was a highlight of his life. He was also a skilled pool player, an enthusiastic card player (Euchre and Poker), and a fan of Bingo later in life.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Denise Wiand-Wright, whom he married on August 21, 2016; and his sons: Zach Rohrabaugh, Brandon Wright, and Aaron Wright. He is also survived by his sister, Debbie Wright; brothers-in-law, Ronald Wiand, Jeff (Donna) Wiand and Rodney Wright; and his mother-in-law, Darlene Wiand. His nieces and nephews Josh (Brooke) Albaugh, Lynlie (Cody) Adair, Ronnie Wiand, Justin Wiand, Nick (Heather) Wiand, Jennifer Wooten, and Timmy (Kailey) Wooten; and grandchildren, Ian Wright, Aiden Wright, and Lilly Wright; great nieces and nephews, lifelong friends, favorite cat Precious, second favorite cat Gabby, and several other cats. Red was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Lilalee Wright; his sister, Darlene Wright; his sister-in-law, Julie Hartley; and his father-in-law, Paul Wiand.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Compassus Hospice for their exceptional care and friendship during Red's last year. In his honor, they invite you to gather with family and friends, have a drink, and share the good stories and times you had with him.

We encourage all who knew and loved Jeffrey to visit his memorial page to leave memories and upload photos of cherished moments spent with him. Your contributions will serve as a comfort to his family and a testament to his impactful life.

A celebration of Red's life will be announced at a later date.

Dunnichay Funeral Home is honored to care for Red and provide his cremation arrangements.
