Jennifer Jill (Pettibone) Hill was born on December 29, 1970 in Tarrytown, New York. She grew up in Bronxville, New York and attended Bronxville Public Schools. Jennifer passed away on September 28th, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 53 years of age.
Jennifer is survived by her loving parents, Dale and James Lattimer, her sister, Chris Kottoor, her nephews, Austin and Gavin Kottoor, her step-daughter, Tayler Purcell, her beloved dogs, Tiki, Tego, Pip, and Rico, as well as many loyal friends and extended family members. Jennifer was predeceased by her grandparents on both sides of the family, Julia and Francis Domchek, as well as Joan and Norman Webb. In addition, her aunt Maryanne Domchek, aunt Alison Webb, uncle David Webb, and niece Cameron Dale Kottoor.
Jennifer studied art, psychology and education at The School of Visual Arts and Mercy College. She received a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences: Psychology in 2002 and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Jennifer continued her studies, earning her Master's Degree in Social Work at the University of Connecticut. Jennifer lived in Bethel, Connecticut and has been working for Connecticut State Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services as a Community Clinician with Young Adult Services (YAS). Her dedication and contributions to her work were tremendous, touching and improving the lives of her clients with the utmost respect and compassion.
Jennifer was a beautiful person inside and out. She cared deeply for the people around her and was incredibly passionate about animals, especially her dogs (her "fur babies"). She had many talents and hobbies such as traveling, sports, home improvement projects, gardening, creating art pieces, and spending time with her dogs. Jennifer was fearless, strong, and determined, as well as very witty with an exceptional sense of humor.
Jennifer had a profound love of animals and nature from the time she was a young child. She delighted in watching hummingbirds and was dedicated to placing feeders throughout her property annually. Jennifer enjoyed watching, feeding and naming the birds who came to visit. She loved animals both small and large, including insects, and would frequently rescue them. Jennifer adopted numerous dogs from shelters, providing them with an amazing new life where they took on the roles of her children. Tucker, her spirit animal, provided her with support during a difficult period in her life, and she was able to reciprocate by tending to him during his ongoing health issues. A few cats needing a loving home were also adopted because she could never leave an animal in need behind.
Jennifer enjoyed being creative and expressing herself in a variety of ways. She was a talented artist who sketched, painted and sculpted many pieces that were displayed in art shows throughout Westchester County. Jennifer was also a creative writer of short stories and poetry, some of which were published. She was a master of both interior and exterior do-it-yourself (DIY) home improvement projects, showcasing her expertise and her artistic flair was evident throughout her house. She was a well-known and respected patron of Lowes, leaving many in awe of her in-depth knowledge of tools and materials. Jennifer's meticulous project sketches consistently impressed the staff, who eagerly anticipated her upcoming endeavors.
Jennifer has always been passionate about traveling and gathering unique artifacts from her journeys. During her childhood, she cherished summers at her family's house on Long Beach Island along the Jersey shore. She also loved visiting her favorite destination, the family home on Vieques Island in Puerto Rico, which she considered her second home and returned to often throughout her life. As an adult, Jennifer continued to be passionate about traveling, exploring both the U.S. and various countries around the world, always eager to immerse herself in different cultures. She journeyed through several European nations, including Ireland, Italy, and Spain. With a passion for tropical destinations, she also ventured to warmer locales like Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Barbados, and numerous Caribbean islands.
Jennifer made an impact on many lives and will be forever missed but never be forgotten.
A gathering to celebrate Jennifer will be held at Bethel Funeral Home at 215 Greenwood Ave, Bethel, CT 06801 on Saturday, November 2nd from 11-1:00.
The family asks in lieu of flowers that memorial donations in Jennifer's name be made to:
The American Institute for Cancer Research at 1560 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington VA 22209 or Danbury Animal Welfare Society (DAWS) at 147 Grassy Plain Street, Bethel, CT 06801. *Gifts made specifically in the memory of Jennifer Jill Hill to DAWS will go towards the creation of a Puppy Play Yard in her name.

I had the pleasure of working with Jen for years. She was one of the most patient mental health care givers I have ever met. She was polite, kind and compassionate. It was known that her dogs were precious to her and brought her joy. I hope they have found a loving home. Rest in peace Jen.
