Jerad Olivas

Jerad James Olivas, 29 of Hernandez, New Mexico, was taken from us on November 11, 2025, as a result of a tragic accident. Jerad was born on March 28, 1996 to April and Gerad (Jamie) Olivas in Española, New Mexico. 

He had such a big heart and was always very respectful. Jerad had a passion for working on vehicles as a mechanic, he would build motors transmissions, did mechanic work on ATVs and loved riding them. Jerad worked for many years at the 420 shop where he met a lot of people. He also loved drawing and doing tattoos. He was very talented and would always put his heart into everything he did. He loved all his fur babies very much, Chico, Hazel,Bubbles, Casper Tigger,Fox known as little bear and his five newborn baby frenchies. If he wasn’t working on vehicles, you could find him fishing. His biggest accomplishment was owning his own business “Quality Sudz Auto Detailing”.

Jerad was preceded in death by his grandmother Clarissa Olivas; grandfather Joe Martinez; great grandparents Bernabe and Fabiola Garcia; stepfather Danny Archuleta; uncles Henry, Gilbert and Delfin Garcia, Ralphie and Michael Barela; aunts Aggie Lujan and Pauline Garcia; cousins Louie, Adam, Crystal, Danny Garcia and Jerad’s best friends, Jose Atencio and Larry Trujillo.

Jerad is survived by his mother April Olivas (John), father Gerad Olivas, beloved partner, Amber Vigil, little brother and best friend Adonise Martinez (Destiny), sister Savannah Olivas, step sisters, Danielle Garcia (Chris) Kassandra Velarde, nephew‘s Adonise Martinez Jr, Eli Martinez, Connor Asher Sanchez, grandparents Gina and Johnny Barela, Uncle Ysrael Montoya (Angeline), Aunt Nina Martinez (Eric), Auntie who helped raise him Adrianna Delvo,cousins Erica Martinez, Shawn Barela, Darren Delvo and mother-in-law who also helped raise him Myra Vigil.

He is also survived by his Aunts and Uncle’s, Mary Padilla, Patricia Trujillo (Aldoro),Josie Garcia, Ben Garcia (Flora),Clyde Garcia(Toni),Johnny Garcia, Robert Olivas(Debbie) Roselee Monarchy, Debbie and Martin Dixon, longtime friend/cousin Maria Knight and many other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 6:00 pm at DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola.

Burial will take place on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 10:30 am at Nuestra Senora de Carmal Catholic Cemetery in Chimayo, NM.

Serving as Pallbearers are Adonise Martinez, Shawn Barela, Darren Delvo, Adam Sanchez, James Martinez and Julian Cordova.

Honorary Pallbearers are Adonise Martinez Jr, Eli Martinez, Mariah Knight, Luis Antillion, Derek Archuleta and all of his many friends.
