Jerald "Jerry" Edwards

Jerald "Jerry" Edwards, 71, of Clyde, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH.
Jerry was born in Fremont on April 11, 1953 to the late Carl A. Edwards and Grace Marie Edwards. He graduated from Fremont Ross High School, Class of 1971. In high school, Jerry was involved in 4H. He was a member of Compassionate Ministries, Clyde, OH and was a member of the Clyde Eagles and VFW. He was 28 years sober and active with AA until he couldn't due to his failing health.
Jerry's first job was at Benny's Pastry and then Nickles Bakery. Later he worked for Green Bay Packaging and then Whirlpool until August 2011.
Jerry enjoyed going to the campground and being with family. He liked to be in the garden and riding his motorcycle. He liked to go bowling with Debra and game night at church or with his family.
On April 2, 2005, in Clyde, OH, he married Debra Kay Postell, and she survives. Jerry is also survived by two daughters, Dawn (Timothy) Willoughby of Portsmouth, OH, Raco Edwards of Portsmouth, OH; two step sons, Cecil Venable of Whites Landing, OH, Jerry (Michelle) Venable of Milan, OH; two step daughters, Peggy (Butch) Tollier of Greenwich, OH, Jessica (Chris) Meadows of Ohio; three grandchildren, five great grandchildren; brother, Jim (Deb) Edwards of Vickery, OH; two sisters, Jayne Vollmar of Clyde, OH, Jan Blausey of Clyde, OH; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by nephew, Jason Vollmar.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 12, 2024, 2:00 pm until time of funeral service at 4:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde, Ohio. Brother Tony Geiger will officiate. Memorial donations may be directed to Jerry's family.
