Jerelyn Mouch Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 20, 2025.
Affectionately known as "Bibby", Jerelyn Cardinal Mouch quietly and peacefully left this world at 5:25am on Friday, October 17, 2025, in the presence of her daughters, just one week before her 82nd birthday. Jerrie was born and raised in Plaquemine, Louisiana. After graduating from Plaquemine High School, Jerrie received a secretarial certification from Southwestern Louisiana University. Soon after college, Jerrie married and had 3 girls in 30 months. As a young stay-at-home mom and homemaker extraordinaire, Jerrie always maintained an immaculately clean home and provided family dinner every night. A pioneer in home exercise, when it was in its infancy, Jerrie organized and taught aerobics classes for years. Initially, she held classes in her living room but that quickly morphed into a popular westside aerobics class program which drew enough members for her to move classes to the Port Allen Community Center. In her later years, when Jerrie was on her own, she excelled at several administrative positions and also as a part-time nanny to her granddaughter Brenna for a year. Ultimately, Jerrie found her calling as the activities coordinator at Williamsburg Retirement Community. Loved and cherished by staff and residents alike, Jerrie thrived at Williamsburg and remained in that position until her retirement in 2005. After retiring, Jerrie enjoyed an enormously fulfilling life with family and friends traveling, shopping, eating out and attending social events. Jerrie was deeply loved, admired and respected by countless family, friends and neighbors. She was a relentless giver of her time, talents and love throughout her life. As her health issues began to limit her ability to travel and drive, Jerrie's vast circle of friends from Al Anon, Healing Place Church (HPC) and her neighborhood ensured she always made it to appointments, outings and meetings. Bibby will forever be loved and remembered by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Jerrie's family is eternally grateful for the outpouring of love and support during her brief illness and death. The common and repetitive description of what an amazing, loving and genuine friend she was to all is the epitome of who she was and who we should all strive to be like. Although raised Catholic, Jerrie chose to publicly commit her life to Christ and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior in 2000 at HPC. Jerrie was involved in the OLOL Children's Miracle Network charity, St Jude outreach program and the Cancer ministry through HPC. Those left behind to mourn the loss of this great lady are her 3 daughters; Julie Broussard (Stuart), Angie M LeGlue and Terrie Dagenhart (Michael). The best bibs/bibster/biberooney/bibby will be missed so very much by her grandchildren: First born, Tori Tranchina followed years later by Brenna Campo (Adrian), Rylee LeGlue and Molly Bucek. Also left behind was Jerrie's constant companion and very special furry friend of 14 years...Beau. Jerrie was preceded in death by her parents: Anthony (Tony) and Lena Cardinal and brother, Ronnie Cardinal. Without a doubt, Bibby has been reunited with her granddaughter, Bailey Marie LeGlue. It is impossible to express with words the depth of gratitude the family wishes to extend to the BRG physicians and staff during her hospital stay. With respect, admiration and appreciation, the family would like to acknowledge Dr's Raju, Kaplan and Campbell for their genuine care, concern and expertise. The family would also like to personally thank sitters: Sheila, Adrian and Lou, BRG in-patient staff, nurses: LeAndre, Sandrina, Brendan & Alexis, PCA's: Kim and Diamond for their dedication to their profession while caring for Jerrie and to the Audubon Hospice team that cared for our mom. Finally, the family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the neighbors that became friends, then family and have largely contributed to Jerrie's ability to remain at her home and live independently over the years: Nichole Dellucky and Franco and Vincent. Jerrie's daughters are grateful to God for the opportunity to honor their mom's selfless wish by donating her body in an effort to help educate others after her passing. Per Jerrie's wishes, a celebration of life, in lieu of a traditional funeral, will be planned at a later date and will include food, music and dancing-3 things Jerrie enjoyed the most. Please consider making a donation to the charity of your choice, in memory of Jerelyn, that you and she may have had a mutual interest in or even met as a result of.
