Many knew Jeremiah as humble, fun, loving and goofy. He had a passion for skating and touched the hearts of so many people with his amazing energy and his admirable skills. He was very genuine and did everything from his heart. Jeremiah also enjoyed riding motorcycles, dancing and spending time with his family. He was a light that shined anywhere he went. Every time he walked in a room he was smiling. His captivating smile will light up our lives for eternity.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather Ernest Lee Carter, great-grandfather Lee E. Carter Sr. and his great-grandmother Georgianna Jackson. He is survived by his parents Melissa Carter, Dominic (Dawn) Carter, his brother Dominic Carter Jr., his sister Olivia Carter, his grandparents Sharon Carter, Timothy Ferguson Sr., Tony (Cynthia) Sellers, his uncles Cedric and Eric Carter, Aunt Jessica Sellers, great grandmothers Gloria Carter and Alma Wade. As well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

In the skating community of which Jeremiah was a huge part of, grown men and women cried more than once because of the impact he had on all of us.
His skills, smile and fun-loving ways touched all of us and when he showed up at the rink, he didn`t come to skate, he came to perform.
That performance caused many of us to stop and admire, while the other half simply tried to copy his style.
Having skated since 1966 myself, I can say I never seen anyone that was as complete of a package that he was at such a young age.
He`s been called a legend, and I can say, Yes he was and know J SMOOTH didn`t need a whole lifetime to achieve that status.
Knowing he will never come through the doors of Skate Zone 71 ever again hurts because he will be truly missed.
