With deep sorrow and much love, we announce the passing of Jeremiah Xavier Smith, who passed away on April 25, 2025, at the age of 19.
Jeremiah was a bright and loving soul who touched the lives of everyone who knew him. His laugh was infectious, his heart was generous, and his spirit was full of kindness. Though his time with us was far too short, his impact will be everlasting.
Jeremiah was preceded in death by his grandfather Jerry Snook, grandmother Melanie Wilson, and his beloved sister Don’esha Smith.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his devoted parents, Kimberly and Luther Hughes, and Donald Smith; his second mother, Angela Hill; his loving grandparents Joy Snook, Gene and Sheila Horn, and Sandra Summers; and his siblings Christina Bell, Luther Hill (Angela), Breionna Evans (James), and Avery Hughes. Jeremiah is also survived by a host of cousins, a niece and a nephew, extended family, dear friends, and honorary siblings: Josh Robinson, Aliyah Hill, Claire Simmons, and Joy Finner, all of whom loved him deeply.
Jeremiah was passionate about sports and a loyal fan of the Louisville Cardinals and the New York Giants. Whether cheering for his teams or playing with friends, his love for the game brought him and those around him joy.
He lived a life filled with laughter, compassion, and love. His memory will remain a blessing and a source of strength to all who knew him.
