Jeremy L. Edgerson

Jeremy L. Edgerson, 36, passed away on September 14, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on August 29, 1989, in Kansas City, Missouri, Jeremy was the son of Reahlene Savage and Kerry Greenwood. From the age of seven, Jeremy was raised by his grandmother, Norma Edgerson, whose love and guidance shaped his life. She later adopted him as her son, affirming the role she always held in his heart.

Jeremy attended Our Lady of Peace School for his elementary and middle school years before graduating from Archbishop O’Hara High School in 2007. At O’Hara, he discovered his lifelong passion for athletic training, supporting school teams while also excelling in the National Forensics League, where he earned numerous awards. He was chosen to attend the 67th session of Missouri Boys State at Central Missouri State University, where he earned a scholarship and was recognized with a leadership award.

He continued his education at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri, where he was inducted into an honors fraternity and earned his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in 2011. That same year, he passed his certification exam on the first attempt, becoming a licensed athletic trainer—an achievement he wore proudly. He went on to earn his Master of Arts in Leadership from Shorter University in Rome, Georgia, in 2013.

Jeremy’s career as an athletic trainer took him across the country, serving universities, colleges, sports leagues, and orthopedic facilities in Georgia, Alabama, Nebraska, Missouri, and Kansas. He won five championship rings during his career. He also shared his expertise as an adjunct professor at the College of Saint Mary and as a preceptor at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Countless patients, students, and coworkers remember his guidance, encouragement, and commitment to their success.

He took pride in his accomplishments, always signing his name “Jeremy L. Edgerson, MA, ATC, LAT” in emails and text messages.

Jeremy was baptized by Father Bob Stone at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri. He faithfully attended Mass and participated in other church activities.

Outside of his profession, Jeremy found pleasure in golf, watching “The Price is Right” daily, movies—especially comedies—and video games. He was also known to be a great cook.

Known for his sarcastic responses and humor, Jeremy had a gift for making people laugh and brightening any room he entered. He was equally known for his big heart. He devoted himself to caring for others—especially his older sister, Kara, who he affectionately called his “little sister” and proudly acted as the big brother she could always rely on even though he was younger. The two shared an unbreakable bond as best friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Steve Edgerson.

He is survived by Norma Edgerson; siblings, Jevon Savage (Kara Savage), Rana Jones, and Kara Edgerson (Andre Shelby); his favorite uncles, Bryan Anthony Cole and Steve Edgerson (Elaine Edgerson); nieces and nephews, Taliah Savage, Jevon Savage II (Jay), Kamari Savage, and Emiyah Jones; cousins, Sparkle Edgerson and D’Markus Wiggins; a circle of close friends, including James Metcalf, Kevin Brusky, Clare Chamberlin, Katrina Worley-Steiner, Natalie Kluska, and Carlos Caldera; and a host of other friends and relatives. Jeremy’s life was defined by service, laughter, and love. His memory will live on in the lives of the patients he helped, the students he mentored, the friends he uplifted, and the family he cherished.
