Jeremy J. Kratwell, 46, of Wausau, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at home, under the care of Compassus Hospice.
He was born on June 15, 1979 in Wausau to Thomas and Jody (Thorson) Kratwell. Jeremy graduated from Wausau West High School with the class of 1997 and was a member of the ski team. They were the first to win state in downhill skiing. He was united in marriage to Megan Powell in Rothschild on December 4, 2014.
Jeremy enjoyed racing at many of the tracks around the state including State Park Speedway in Rib Mountain where he raced in the bombers and legends divisions. He loved and enjoyed time with his family and children. He especially loved to take the kids to all of the different parks in the area, going on walks, and also amusement parks. He always enjoyed cheering for the Brewers and took the family to games. He will be missed by many.
Survivors include his wife, Megan; children, Ryleigh, Regan, and Rory; parents, Tom and Jody Kratwell; sisters, Jamie Potter and her children, Grace and Evan; and Mary Kratwell and her daughter, Adrianna; mother-in-law, Kandis (Thomas) Sullivan, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Donald and Kathryn Kratwell; and maternal grandparents, Roy and Rosita Thorson.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 4, 2025, at Holy Name Catholic Church, 1104 South Ninth Avenue, Wausau, with Rev. Woodrow Pace presiding. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Private burial will take place at a later date in Restlawn Memorial Park.
