Jerold graduated from David Douglas High School and served in the U.S. Army as a helicopter mechanic. He worked 42 years in machine repair at Owens-Illinois Glass Company.
He was a great outdoors man. His favorite sport was fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife, June Bangs. He then found love again, with Alma Tesler. They retired together and loved to travel.
Jerold is survived by his wife, Alma Bangs; son, Troy Bangs (Lori); daughter, Tamera Bowman; brother, Darrell Bangs (Joanie); sister, Sandra Snow (Frank); sister, Darlene White (Bob); stepdaughter, Diana Letz (Matthew); stepson, Vincent Tesler; twelve grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service with be held at Ascension Lutheran Church on February 7th, 2026 at 1:00 o'clock. The address is 1440 SE 182nd Avenue, Portland, OR 970233.
