Jerome “Turtle” Teynor, 65 of Bucyrus passed away on Sunday December 15, 2024 at Altercare of Bucyrus following an extended illness. Jerome was born June 30, 1959 in Bucyrus to the late James M. Teynor and Kathryn D. (Heil) Teynor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Jean and twin brother Leo.
Turtle is survived by children Matt (Jenna) Teynor of Columbus and Stacey (Thad) Nelson of Mechanicsburg, Ohio; grandchildren Addison, Isabelle, Maren, Jack, and Beau; brothers James (Sharon) Teynor Jr., Jeff (Deb) Teynor, and Joe (Lee) Teynor all of Bucyrus; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Turtle worked with his brothers for Design Built Construction as a Mason until 2008. He lived his entire life in Bucyrus and graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1977. Turtle enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was very active in Relay for Life in Memory of his sister Jean and served as the President of the Altercare Resident Committee. Turtle was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am in the Funeral Home. Immediately following the service, all are welcome to join the family for a gathering at the Legion. Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com and the family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the National MS Society on behalf of his family.
