Jerry Allan Arthur left this earthly life on October 28, 2024 after a long cancer illness. He was 68 years old. Jerry was born on June 5, 1956 in Greencastle, IN to Maurice "Jiggs" Johnson and Wilma "Lucy" Arthur. He served 3 years in the United States Army. Jerry was in the 101st Airborne Division as an Administrative Specialist based at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. He was a Lieutenant, firearms instructor, assistant emergency squad leader and CAB chairman for the Indiana Department of Correction before changing careers and going to work for Eli Lilly & Company in 1990 retiring in 2022. Jerry enjoyed golfing, fishing, Dodgers baseball and Packers football. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Jerry was a faithful member of Soul's Harbor Church AOG in Plainfield. He loved attending services and functions with his church family. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Kristie Lee Arthur. He is survived by his wife, Becky; son, Josh (Kayla); grandchildren, Sierra, Katelyn, Levi, Bailey, Reese and Kallie; great grandchildren, Aubri, Heavenlee and Emberlee; brothers, Joe, Ken, Steve; sisters, Jackie, Jean, Judy, Janice, Jane and Jenny. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Amo Cemetery.
