Jerry Bowman Obituary

Jerry proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He entered the Marines on September 29, 1967 and was a Lance Corporal working in field operations until his discharge in September 1971.
Jerry was married to his sweetheart, Linda (Gushard) on July 26, 1969 in Riverside, CA. They shared fifty-five wonderful years of marriage together, raised four children and saw their family grow with the addition of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
After leaving the Marines, Jerry continued in his service to protect others. He completed technical training in law enforcement and served over 25 years with both city and county law enforcement agencies in Arkansas. In 2008, Jerry and Linda moved from Northwest Arkansas to Southwest Missouri.
Jerry entered into rest at his home in Reeds Spring on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at the age of 77.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. & Erline Bowman and siblings, Bob Phillips and Lou Brooks.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Linda Bowman of Reeds Spring; his children Jeff Bowman and wife Kara of Branson, Rebecca Bowman of Reeds Spring, Kimberly Miller and husband Ryan of Aurora and Jenna Bowman of Ozark; his twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a new great grandbaby on the way.
A celebration of Jerry's life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Healing River Worship Center, 265 Oak Ridge Rd., in Walnut Shade, MO with military honors rendered by the United States Marine Corps and BVA 913.
Cremation arrangements were in the care of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson.

Jerry was such a sweet man and it was an absolute privilege to work with him. I was so saddened to hear the news of his passing. Much love to his entire family.

I met Jerry as a young volunteer fire fighter with Lowell FD. I didn´t know that later he would hire me as a police officer to work under him at Lowell Pd.
I love that man as a person and as my chief. He taught me to be a great officer and what to stand for. I remember him being so jumpy, and as a Vol. Firefighter would often sneak up behind him a poke him. As his officer I didn´t dare sneak up on him. I respected him so much.
I am truly sorry for you loss. He was truly a great boss, great friend and a great family man that truly loved his family and family values. He will be greatly missed and I wish I would have reached out to him a long time ago.
Chief Bowman we have it from here. Go rest easy, you deserve it.
