Jerry Boyd Obituary
A graduate of Cassville High School and the University of Missouri Rolla, Jerry's talents and interests led him through a variety of professions, including machinist, short-order cook, and electronic assembly technician. However, his greatest joy came from being a stay-at-home dad after the birth of his daughter, Libby. Most recently, Jerry was an accomplished author, having penned the popular Bob and Nikki and The Fatman's Gift series, publishing an impressive 52 books.
A man of many passions, Jerry was a gun enthusiast, a skilled card player who especially enjoyed Pitch, and a Scrabble aficionado. He was also a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and a cherished brother, uncle, neighbor, and friend. His warmth, humor, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Donna; his daughter, Elizabeth "Libby" (Jerod) Gardner of Midwest City, Oklahoma; his beloved granddaughter, Alice Gardner; his sisters, Jane (John) Saunders of Washburn, Missouri, and Joyce (Mark) Swinney of Ava, Missouri; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother and sister-in-law, Jim (Charlene) Boyd.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 9, 2024, at the Rolla Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary, with Pastor Mark Swinney officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 11:00 AM until service time at the chapel. Memorial gifts are encouraged in lieu of flowers to a trust fund that the family has set up for his granddaughter, and any future grandchildren. Cards are available at all James & Gahr locations.
Jerry's legacy of love, laughter, and storytelling will continue to inspire all who knew him.

I have just become aware of Jerry Boyd's passing. I mourn his passing, the world has lost a truly unique author.
I bought "Bob's Saucer Repair (Bob and Nikki Book 1)" on October 27, 2019 and over the following years I have bought all 52 of the "Bob's Saucer Repair" books. The highlight of any day was when looking through my emails I would find one from Amazon informing me that there was a new Bob and Nikki book.
I will miss Jerry's writing.

I grew up in the Oklahoma/Arkansas/Kansas @ Missouri corner. All of the manners and attitudes are exactly what I. Grew up with. My heart goes out to his widow and family.

I'm so saddened to hear of the passing of Jerry. My condolences go out to his wife children and family. He was such a good author I found him early on in his Bob and Nikki series. And have enjoyed all of his books since then. I really enjoyed the characters in his books personalities I'd like to think that they gave us some kind of a window into his own. I really hope that he inspired someone with a lot more talent in my own to continue to write in his style. I really would have liked to have met him. His sense of humor and wit we're very endearing. I will miss his almost monthly book releases dearly.

Jerry was such an amazing author. I discovered his Bob and Nikki series when it was at #20, and waited impatiently for each new book after that. The stories in his books were full of down to earth values and philosophies and I would imagine that he lived that same way. Thank you Jerry for sharing your imagination with the world and for giving such joy.
You will be missed by many and I can only hope that you have inspired someone to write as well as you did.
To Jerry´s family, thank you for sharing him and his talent. My heartfelt condolences are with you,as are my prayers.

My most sincere condolences to his wife and daughter, family and friends. He will be missed by the many, many people whose lives he touched. I never met him but read all of his Bob & Nikki and Fatman's Gift series. I thank him for the entertainment, the laughs and the knowledge he generously gave us readers. I eagerly looked forward to each books release and in between would reread my favorites. His books have been a bright note during some tough times. I was stunned to hear of his passing (much too young). Sending you peace and love during this difficult time.
