Jerry Lynn Brossia was born on November 16, 1950, in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of six children born from the union of Frederick "Fritz" Brossia and Loretta (Goodnough) Brossia. After attaining his GED, Jerry enrolled in a few general college courses. Even though he only attended Monroe County Community College briefly, it was there that he first began to hone his ability to connect with others.
Answering the call to serve his country, Jerry joined the Armed Forces and served with distinction in the Army. After his military service, he embarked on a new professional chapter with Wyandotte Alarm Company. For more than thirteen years, he was a dedicated technician, installing security systems for both commercial and residential clients.
Later, Jerry discovered a hidden passion for crafting and repairing jewelry at Brennan's in Dundee. Over the course of eight years, he perfected his jewelry making skills. He delighted in sharing his creations with others, occasionally giving them as gifts or selling them to appreciative customers.
Jerry was the kind of person whose smile and laughter could light up a room. Even during difficult times, such as when he required medical care, he maintained his trademark sense of humor. The nurses who looked after him fondly recalled how he would brighten their day with a well-timed joke or a kind word.
Jerry Lynn Brossia, age 75, of Monroe, passed away at MediLodge of Monroe at 7:18am on Thursday; December 12, 2024. His passing was preceded by two brothers: Ronald Brossia and Robert "Bob" Brossia.
To cherish his memory, he leaves three siblings: Jeanne Niles, Judy McClish, and John (Janet) Brossia; twelve nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.
His care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. Cremation has taken place through Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan, a division of Merkle Enterprises, Inc. A private burial of his cremated remains took place at Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle, under the auspices of the Monroe VFW Post 1138 Ritual Team.
