Jerry Colbaugh Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home and Chapel on May 9, 2024.
Jerry Leo Colbaugh of Moore, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on May 7, 2024, at the age of 81. Jerry was born on July 9, 1942. He attended US Grant High School in Oklahoma City, and married his high school sweetheart, Linda, in 1961.
Linda preceded Jerry in death on December 9, 2023. He is also predeceased by his mother, Velma Colbaugh, his father, Hughey Lowe, a son, Jerry Colbaugh, and a daughter, Trina Kay.
Left to treasure his memory are his son, Greg Colbaugh, daughter Dianna Colbaugh, his grandchildren Jonathan, Lacey, Tonya, Tamra, Chris, and Kayla Nicole, twelve great-grandchildren, and many more loving family members and friends.
A family man to his very core, Jerry was a devoted husband to Linda. Their partnership was built on love and adoration, a mutual love of travel, and shared life goals. Together, they nurtured a family, imparting the virtues of kindness, perseverance, and unconditional love. Jerry's role as a father and grandfather, and ultimately, a protector, was paramount - he took great pride in his children's growth and achievements.
Jerry was certainly a man's man, and by all accounts, a hard worker who was always happy to provide for his family. A stellar, loyal employee, he spent many of his career years on the assembly line at Lucent Technologies until his retirement. In his free time, he was an avid fisherman who enjoyed the quiet solitude of a day at the lake. Building model airplanes was another passion of Jerry's. Once a new model was complete, he loved to display his planes by suspending them from the ceiling. A firearms enthusiast, he also loved target shooting and was a regular at the H&H gun range. Music brought him great joy as well, and he was known to boast that he owned every single Elvis Presley, Willie Nelson, and Waylon Jennings album.
Yet, it was his family that remained his greatest source of pride and joy. Jerry was an ardent supporter of his wife, children, and grandchildren, prioritizing their happiness and well-being above anything else. Though we may now be absent of his physical presence, his love continues to surround us, and his spirit will continue to protect and guide us. Jerry will be deeply missed, and his memory will live forever in our hearts.

Jerry was a friend of our breakfast club at Fresenius dialysis center , Moore. He was quick to offer words of encouragement for those of us newer members. He was missed when he wasn't there and leaves a void in our morning discussions. May God receive him with open arms, see you up there some day.
