Jerry E. Dobson

Gerald "Jerry" Eugene Dobson, age 88, of Valley City, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 27, 2023. He was born to the late Lewis and Clara (Reutter) Dobson on July 3, 1935, in Valley City, Ohio. Jerry proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Southwest Baptist Church of Brunswick, Ohio. He ran his own construction business and was known for his artistic skills as a master mason. Jerry enjoyed spending his time tending to his vegetable garden and he was known for loving all things with bears. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Jerry is survived by his four children, Rhonda (Jim) Vanek of Powell, WY, Raelene (Dave) Nickerson of Kent, OH, Annie (Charlie) Kershner of Ashland, OH, and Michael (Bianka) Dobson of Valley City, OH; and his seven grandchildren, Sarah, Breeanna, Carli, Logan, Silas, Nehemiah, and Ruth. He was preceded by his wife of 61 years, Maudie "Aline" Dobson in 2022 and his three brothers, Roger Dobson, Donald Dobson, and Wilbur Dobson.
Following Jerry's wishes, cremation has taken place. He will be laid to rest with his beloved wife at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.
