Jerry Dodson

The services celebrating and honoring the life of Jerry Dodson, 77, of Enid, will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday January 14, 2025, in the Enid First Assembly of God under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A life celebration home.

Jerry was born to Morris and Maxine Dodson on February 18, 1947, in Enid, Oklahoma and passed from this life in his home with family on January 10, 2025, in Enid.

Jerry was raised here in Enid, Oklahoma and graduated from Enid High School in 1966. After graduation did a short term with the U.S. Marines with an honorable discharge.

He married the love of his life Margie Dodson on January 7, 1977. They celebrated their 48th anniversary days before his passing. They raised their 5 children together here in Enid, 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.

Jerry worked in retail and as a security guard at St. Mary’s Hospital. His love for life was his music, he was a band manager, played lead guitar in his band “The Peacemakers”, and taught guitar lessons locally. He played instruments but country music on the guitar had his heart.

He is survived by his wife Margie Dodson, and his 5 children, Tammie McCleary (Mark), Kim Redding (Jeremy), Angela Punneo- Crews (Christy), Misty Stroud, and Bobby Dodson; seven grandchildren, Mark McCleary Jr. (Amber), Becca McCleary Houston, Austin Simcoe, Michael McDaniel, Samantha Dodson, Tyler Dodson, and Madisyn George; six great grandchildren, Shy Hale, Brayden McDaniel, Teagan Houston, Ryker Houston, Elizabeth Geraldine Ray, and Isiah George -York; two brothers, Clifford Dodson and Wesley Dodson; and numerous nephews, 

He was preceded in death by his parents Morris and Maxine Dodson, two brothers, Herbert Dodson and William M. Dodson Jr., and one sister, Marilyn Dodson.
