Jerry Arnold Fuqua, Sr.

1946-2025

Jerry Arnold Fuqua, Sr., a cherished resident of Caswell County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on April 28, 1946, also in Caswell County, Jerry lived a life defined by hard work, dedication, and love for his family.

Jerry was a man of many talents, having built a career filled with diverse skills in construction, plumbing, and electrical work. However, his true passion lay in working on cars. He was known for his expertise in engine repairs, bodywork, and painting. Later in life, after retiring from Commodore, Jerry devoted his time to small engine repairs, refurbishing lawn mowers, and other tasks that occupied his beloved workshop, which he fondly referred to as his "man cave." It was here that he spent much of his retirement years, engaging in the work he loved most.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Ila Mae Fuqua and William Norman Fuqua; his brothers, Aubrey (Allen) Fuqua and William (Larry) Fuqua; and his sister, Judith Cook. He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Esther (Diane) Fuqua; his daughter, Charlene Sykes, and her husband, John; his son, Jerry Arnold Fuqua, Jr., and his partner, Tina Allen; his granddaughters, Megan Carol Fuqua, Kathryn Elaine Fuqua, and along with her partner, Cole Barnes; and his sister, Lisa West.

A celebration of Jerry's life is being planned for a date in the near future, where family and friends will gather to honor the memory of a remarkable man who touched their lives with his straight forward and direct personality.

Jerry will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him. His legacy of hard work and dedication will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. May he rest in peace.
