Jerry Mixon, affectionately known as "Rooster", passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025. Jerry was a member of Central Baptist Church and retired from the Bogalusa Paper Mill. He had made several friends throughout his different phases in life, such as working in the paper mill, owning Pearl River Country Club, riding motorcycles, owning race horses, and raising and breeding chickens. Jerry was a selfless, God-fearing man who was loved by his family and friends, and he loved them deeply as well.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years: Tammy; two sons: Jared (Jordan) and Bull (Madison); one daughter: Jessica; grandsons: Jagger and Baylor; granddaughters: Jada and Juniper; a sister: Janet Branch; several nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends that he considered family.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father: Joe Wendell Mixon; mother: Jessie Lee Mixon; one sister: Christie Rowell; a brother: Jimmy Mixon; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Brown-McGehee Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements. Visitation will take place in the funeral home chapel and start Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 11AM until time of service at 2PM. Interment will immediately follow at Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa, LA. Bro. Kyle Jones will officiate service.
