Jerry Lee Peardon, Jr, 54, of Columbus, GA died at Columbus, Piedmont, Midtown, Columbus, GA on Wednesday February 21, 2024.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA with Reverend Hank Reeves officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Peardon was born April 9, 1969 in Chattanooga, TN son of Margie Ashley Peardon and the late Jerry Lee Peardon, Sr. He was a member of Glenn Anthony Baptist Church for several years. Jerry loved being a mechanic. If we could not find him, we just started looking for a car with the hood up or on jack stands because that was where he would be at. As a mechanic he worked for several local shops, most recently Cool Car Auto Air in Columbus, GA. He also found great enjoyment in watching NASCAR; Dale Sr. being his all-time favorite driver. Jerry also built and raced his own car. This was the highlight of his life!
We will miss him in our daily lives, but every time we watch a NASCAR race or work on a car we will smile with fond memories of him.
Mr. Peardon was preceded in death by his dad, Jerry Lee Peardon, Sr. and a sister, Karen Boggs.
Survivors other than his mother, Margie Peardon, include his five children, Ashley Hamblin (Patrick), Sadana Peardon, Laura Peardon, April Peardon and Emily Peardon; longtime companion, Denise Ellis; five grandchildren, Michael Nathan, Zander, Noah, Harlee and Scarlett; two “adopted” grandchildren, Heaven-Lee and Mia Trawick; aunt, Alberta Katheline Nicholas; special nieces and nephews, Angela Spradley, Robert Boggs, Chris Boggs and Erica Williams; several other family members and friends.
