Jerry J. Pollitt, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at the age of 80. Beloved husband of the late Barbara Pollitt; cherished son of the late Raymond and Allene Pollitt; devoted father of Jeff (Christine Mastroianni) Pollitt, the late Ann (Eric survives) Urban, the late Lawrence "Chip" Keeney, and Bridget Pearl; loving grandfather of Lucy (Ron) Kuester, Olan Polston, Alison (Hunter) Hancock, Bobbie Polston, Hannah (Matt) Polston, Evan Pollitt, Emma Pollitt, Tony Urban, Mallory Urban, Jesse (Samuel) McNett, Lauren Mastroianni, Alex Mastroianni, and Ian Mastroianni; treasured great grandfather of August, Virginia, Evelyn, Abigail, Lucca, and Mia; dear brother of Terry (Kathy) Pollitt, Linda Neuman, Raylene (Jim) Davis, Rick (Maureen) Pollitt, and brother-in-law of Meg (Dave) Clasby.
Jerry proudly served in the United States Navy and was an active member of the VFW and Florissant Presbyterian, where he served as a deacon. He had a deep love for the outdoors, enjoying fishing, camping, and spending time with family, particularly at the Meramec River. He was a proud member of the "Tannhauser Hunting and Fishing Club", contributing to his passion for nature. Known for his humble and kind nature, Jerry was accepting of others and had a peaceful, approachable personality that drew people to him. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Jerry's name to Pathways Hospice or Wounded Warriors.
