Joanie, Shelly, Sherry, Andy, and the rest of Jerrys family, I am so sorry for your loss. Last time I saw Jerry was back in the fall and I was in search of turnip greens and he lead us right over to his patch. We had a quick chat and decided we are all getting old, but little did either of us know he would be leaving for a better place sooner than some. We had a few laughs and he left after we got through talking about the sorghum making that he did. That is the way I like to remember him.. laughing and talking. God Bless all of you. He will be sorely missed.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to you all. Our children will always remember going with their pappaw (Dale Thornton) to Mr. and Mrs. Price's house to make sorghum molasses. They made a video of that and really enjoyed meeting "Mr. Jerry." May God give you all comfort...

Sherry and family,

I will always remember Jerry with a smile on his face, and hands and a heart willing to help anyone with a need. He feels no pain now and his imperfect world has become the one we all strive for in our lives.

We won't have to wonder who's keeping them laughing we we approach the judgment gates--I'm sure Jerry will be the ring leader!

My heart goes out to you as you suffer this loss but I rejoice in the victory that Jerry has won.

Shelly, Sherry & Family:

Jerry was such a great person to be around. My sisters and I loved for Dad to take us to your house when we were little to see all the animals. I remember one time in particular, Jerry talked Dad into letting us take home some baby chickens. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. May God give you comfort during this time.

My sincere condolences to all Jerry's family. What a sense of humor he always had. I will forever remember him calling our Alltel office in Fordyce looking for Bobby and/or cable. He always started out with his famous double talk, which I always fell for and he loved it. I consider it an honor and a privilege to have worked with and known him thru the years. He was always upbeat and positive, a true friend, and a man of his word. He will be missed by all of us who knew him. May God give all of you peace and comfort in the difficult days ahead. Sincerely From a Former Alltel Co-worker in Fordyce,

Mike & Jan Funderburk
