Jerry Windel Richie

Jerry Windel Richie, 82, of Tehachapi, California went to be with the Lord on May 16th, 2025, at his home in Tehachapi, California.
Jerry was born in Truman, Arkansas to Phillip and Louise Richie on July 20, 1942. He grew up in Arkansas and Missouri until 1956 when his family moved to California, living in Glendale and later settling in Arvin. There he attended Arvin High School.
Jerry and his wife, Lynda, began their life together in 1979 and married in 1991, in Arvin California, becoming a blended family with their four children. They lived in Arvin until September 1998, before moving to their home in Tehachapi, California. Jerry held numerous jobs: working at a gas station at age 16 in Glendale, working several years at Mazzie's Potato Shed in Arvin, Delivery Driver for Pepsi Cola, being the Athletic Trainer at Arvin High School, and serving as Pump Foreman at Arvin/Edison Water Storage District, where he retired in 2004, after 23 years.
Jerry and Lynda enjoyed many adventures together, camping at the Beach, Lake Isabella, Yosemite and attending the LA Dodger baseball games, taking road trips to visit family in Montana and Oklahoma. Jerry's favorite hobby was golf. Probably his most memorable golf game was at Pebble Beach (thanks to Rich and Nancy Gargan) He spent many hours on the greens with friends, family and coworkers, playing for fun and in tournaments. He belonged to Southern Pacific Golf Club and Horsethief Men's Golf Club. He also belonged to Arvin Edison Bowling Team for several years. Other hobbies were, softball, attending horse races, watching car races at Mesa Marin Speedway and trips to Las Vegas and Tachi Casino with family.
The family of Jerry Richie wants to thank everyone for their visits, calls, cards, prayers and support. He will be missed by all of us but let us hold on to the beautiful truth that one day we will be reunited with our loved ones in heaven and sharing in an everlasting joy that transcends all earthly limitations.
