Jerry Wayne Shue, 78, of Salisbury, NC, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024 surrounded by family.
He was born November 12, 1945 in Salisbury, NC to the late Willie Lee Shue and Marie Agner Shue. Jerry worked at Boral Brick, formerly known as Isenhour Brick for 42 years as the maintenance foreman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends and family. He also enjoyed woodworking, sharing his talents by building many swings and tables for the people he loved. He was known as the trailer man to many in the area because he built trailers from scratch and always had one in the front yard for sale.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Blakesley.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Brenda Athey Shue; sister and brother-in-law, Gary "Bub" and Judy Shue Athey and brother, Richard "Dick" Shue daughters, Teresa Shue Galey (Dewayne) and Wendy Shue (Jerry); son, Brad Shue; grandchildren, Clay Hammill (Madison); Garrett Hammill (Destiny); Kate Galey Arnet (Will); Gracie Galey Pryor (Michael) and his great-grandsons, Weston and Beau.
A Celebration of Life for friends to come by and greet the family will be held Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 5:30-7:30 at the Russell/Rufty building at Gold Hill Park, 755 St Stephens Church Rd, Gold Hill, NC 28071.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House, 1229 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144.
