Stevens, Jerry Lee of Flushing, age 72, died Monday, October 6, 2025, at his home. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will take place.
Jerry was born in Flint, Michigan on September 7, 1953, the son of Lawrence and DeVonna (Bettesworth) Stevens. Jerry was a graduate of Flushing High School, class of 1971. He attended and graduated from Flint Barber College. Jerry married Vickie Burkett on May 8, 1981, in Bancroft, Michigan.
During high school, Jerry worked at Maverick Restaurant in Clio as a bus boy. He later was employed by Staley's Plumbing and Heating, worked at Ron's Barber Shop and worked for Vinyl Sash in Flint. Jerry was an avid baseball fan, from playing in his youth and through high school and playing alongside his brother for many years in various Flushing leagues, to cheering on the Detroit Tigers. He also loved hunting and fishing with family up north. Together with his son, Adam, they enjoyed going on drives in the evenings to see how many deer they could see. Jerry liked keeping busy, tinkering around, as well as helping family and friends with all their handyman issues.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Vickie; son, Adam; sister, Patty A. Stevens; sister-in-law, Salli Stevens; many nieces, nephews, and cousins, and special mention to Damon, Alex, and Mike B. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, James Stevens.
A couple of Jerry's favorite quotes to leave with you, "Up with the sun, gone with the wind" and "Dawn is breaking, it's early morn."
