Jerry Wayne Stokes of Pace, Florida passed away peacefully Thursday evening September 28th surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry was born September 22, 1947, in Pace, Florida right on the same property he lived a long happy life. Jerry finished high school with a GED. He was the youngest of 3 sons born to the late Lester and Grace Stokes of Pace, Florida.
Jerry was a mechanic at Vanity Fair Mills and retired after 35 years. Jerry was an outdoor person and loved fishing, boating, the beach, and traveling. He spent countless hours with some of his best friends including, but not limited to, Harvey Stewart, Ronnie Silcox, and David Thorpe who welcomed him to heaven.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Janice Stokes; his children, Donnie, Connie, Lori, and Stan and Doug Jackson; grandchildren, Cory and Hunter Stokes, Alayna Jackson, Devin, Austin, and Ashton Jernigan.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday October 3, 2023, at Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel, 6405 Highway 90 W Milton, Florida 32570, with visitation from 2:00-3:00pm and service at 3:00pm.
The Stokes family would like to thank the doctors and especially the nursing staff at Covenant Care at HCA West Florida Hospital for their loving and professional care.
