Jerry Glenn Thomas, a resident of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025, at the age of 82. He was born on June 23, 1942, in Washington, D.C., to the late Carmen and Ruth Thomas.
Jerry was the devoted husband of 55 years to the late Ellen Ann McClendon Thomas. He is the cherished father of Jennifer Catherine Thomas and Jason Stephen Thomas (Audrey) and the proud grandfather of Zackary Thomas Cowsar (Sara), Jasmine Marie Boskent Thomas, Charles Joseph Wright, and Ariel Marie Wright. He is also survived by his loving sister, Linda Borne (Dan), as well as many extended family members and dear friends whom he loved and respected deeply.
Jerry graduated from Phillips High School in Birmingham, Alabama, and earned a bachelor's degree in business from Samford University. During his college years, he worked as a radio jockey at WDJC radio station, a role he greatly enjoyed.
He built a successful career as an equipment salesman spanning over 50 years, including operating his own business, Thomas Equipment Sales. A passionate classic car enthusiast, Jerry found joy in spending time with his children and grandchildren, often sharing with them his love for vintage automobiles. He was also a talented woodworker who enjoyed crafting in his spare time.
Jerry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
