Jerry Lee Tinkler

Jerry Lee Tinkler loving husband to Kay, a great father to Wade, Cody and Lindsey passed from this earth into the arms of Jesus on March 23, 2024 after a hard fought battle with Parkinson's disease.
He was the first born son of Jesse Lee and Sylvia Tinkler born in San Angelo, Texas September 24, 1940. He attended Robert Lee schools graduating in 1959. While in high school Jerry was quite the athlete. His two favorite sports were football and baseball. He even pitched a no hitter, a perfect game, against Wall. He went off to Texas Tech after high school graduating with an accounting degree in 1963. The day after his college graduation he received his draft notice. He spent the next two years in the Army in Thailand and Hawaii. He received the Army Commendation medal and Sharp Shooter medal. He then returned home and went to work for Hunter Cherry accounting firm in 1965. In 1966 he met Kay Tinkler on a blind date and they married 3 months later. It was love at first sight.
He became a partner in Eckert, Ingram, Tinkler, and Oliphant in 1976 which is now Eckert and Company. He retired in 2012, after 47 years.
Jerry and Kay were able to take several trips during retirement. They enjoyed them all. His favorite was Alaska. He was able to spot many Bald Eagles.
Jerry was an avid bass fisherman and he enjoyed his weekly round of golf at Quicksand. Parkinson's disease gradually took away these and other anticipated adventures. He was an active member of the West Texas Rehab's Parkinson's Power Hour since 2017. This is an exercise program designed just for Parkinson's patients.
Jerry was a kind, generous and thoughtful man who enjoyed his life with Kay and their children and grandchildren; Wade,(deceased) daughter Daria, Cody and wife Bobbie, son Zachary and Lindsey and husband Jason, daughters Gracie and Abby.
These kids brought him such joy! He never missed any event they participated in until his health declined. It was a sad day to give up watching his grands! He was so proud of them!
He was greeted on the other side by his grandmother Mattie Eckert Tinkler, his parents Jesse Lee and Sylvia Tinkler, his brother Paul Tinkler, his sister, his son Robert Wade Tinkler and his mother in law, Dorothy Mann.
He is survived by his wife, Kay, son Cody Tinkler and wife Bobbie of Lubbock, daughter Lindsey McMillan and husband Jason of San Angelo, grandchildren Daria Tinkler of Robert Lee, Zachary Tinkler of Lubbock, and Gracie and Abby McMillan both of San Angelo, his nieces Sherrie James and Tracie Halter and many other family and friends and church family who have supported him throughout his journey with Parkinson's.
Jerry was an active member of the Wall Brethren church.
Jerry loved the Lord, his church and had a special friendship with his pastor Rev. Tommy Tallas now retired.
Services will be under the direction of Rev. Tommy Tallas and Rev. Robbie Price at the Wall Brethren Church in Wall, Texas Thursday, March 28 at 10:30 a.m.
