Jesse Ray Dennis proceeded into the arms of his Heavenly Father on March 31, 2025. He was born in Spencer, Oklahoma, to Jesse & Edna Dennis on Oct. 11, 1952. He graduated from Star-Spencer High School in 1970. In his youth, he enjoyed hunting, photography, and his old bird dog, Sue.
He married Tracy Mason in 1982 and became a loving and devoted father to his two children, Heather and Dustin. Jesse began his career at Xerox in Yukon, OK, as a maintenance worker. Later in his career, he was promoted to the production line. He remained in that position until retiring after 20+ years of service to the company.
In retirement, Jesse enjoyed attending car shows, tinkering on old classic cars with his brother, but most of all, he cherished the time with his family, and especially being an active part of his grandchildren's lives. Being a grandfather was one of his greatest joys. He liked visiting with people and always had a story to tell, often we had heard the same stories 100 times before. He spent free time writing "colorful" poems that he probably should have kept to himself. Jesse also enjoyed being outdoors. You could find him out walking his neighborhood, sitting in a chair watching the weather, or striper fishing at Lake Texhoma with his family. He was thoughtful, opinionated, and ornery, but you knew you could count on him to lend a hand and be there to help when asked. Jesse always showed up for family and friends, with gifts or a small treat in hand. The most important thing in his life was sharing his love for Jesus. One of his favorite lines was, "You gotta get your heart right." He never passed up an opportunity to introduce people to the love and peace of Jesus.
Jesse Ray Dennis was a simple man but made a significant impact on all those who had the pleasure of meeting him. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and his community.
Jesse is survived by his wife, Tracy Dennis, of Nicoma Park, OK; daughter Heather Luke and husband David of Bridge Creek, OK; his son Dustin Dennis of Yukon, OK; his grandchildren Jarron, Alison, Isaac, Dylan, and Ayla; one sister, Linda Morales of Midwest City, OK; and many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and three siblings: Donna Dennis, Geraldine Sims, and Danny Dennis.
Services to honor his memory will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 4, 2025, at Liberty Christian Center, 1121 S. Post Rd., Midwest City, OK.
