Jesse M. June, 78, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2010, at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born on November 8, 1931, in Bolivar, N.Y., the son of Jesse F. June and Belva Daniels June. He married Ellen Sara Coco on November 26, 1953. Jesse joined the army in July 1949 and served in Korea as a tank driver. He went to intelligence school at Fort Halobird, Maryland, in 1957, after having studied the Romanian language at Monterey Language School in 1955. After completing language school and intelligence school, he studied German at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He then went to Europe, where he was assigned to Positive Intelligence until 1962, after which he returned to the states and attended the Counter Intelligence Corps School at Ft. Holabird, Maryland. He was then assigned to the Rochester, N.Y., field office of the 108th MI group, where he conducted background investigations and counter intelligence duties. At the end of that tour, he returned to Munich, Germany, where he again worked in the collection of intelligence on eastern European countries. In 1967, Mr. June, then a Chief Warrant Officer III, was sent to Viet Nan, where he worked for one year as a polygraph examiner, and had the privilege of giving a polygraph exam to the highest level defector to come out of the North Viet Namese army. In 1968, he returned to the U.S. and returned to his previous office as Special Agent in Charge of the Rochester, N.Y., field office, where he worked until his retirement in 1971. In 1971, he worked as a polygraph examiner in Memphis, Tenn., until 1976, when he relocated to Evansville and lived there until his passing. In 1976, he founded Fidelity Search, Inc. which he owned until 1998. After selling Fidelity Search, he started Hi-Tech Investigative, which he owned and managed until he sold that firm in 2003. He then opened his latest firm, Hi-Tech Polygraph Consultants until his death. He was a member of several organizations including the Knights of Columbus, having served two terms as Grand Knight, and as Faithful Navigator of the Fourth Degree for 2½ years, a member of the National Counter Intelligence Corps Association, and the Army Counter Intelligence Corps Veterans, where he served as secretary for 3 years. He belonged to the American Polygraph Association, the Indiana Polygraph Association and was the president for 5 years. He was also a member of the VFW, the American Legion, the Eagles, the Association of former Intelligence Officers, The Germania Maennerchor, the Indiana Association of Private Investigators, and was a Kentucky Colonel. Jess is survived by his wife Ellen of 56 years whom he met in Redding, Penn., where she resided. They were married in Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Redding on November 26, 1953, with a full military ceremony. He is also survived by sons, Jess L. June and wife, Lonna, of Jackson, Tenn., Leland B. June and wife, Dale, of Memphis, Tenn., Vince G. June and wife, Gladis, of Marco Island, Fla.; daughters Nancy E. Lohr and husband, Darryl, of Mount Pleasant, Penn., Susan M. Maryanski and husband, David, of Hoboken, N.J., and Cheryl D. Harmon and husband, Mark, of Mount Vernon, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia Robinson of Spencerport, N.Y. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jarrod Lohr in 1991. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. today, May 2, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville. Services will be on Monday, May 2, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum. The Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct graveside services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree.
