Funeral service for Jesse Lee Poore, 75, of Golden Springs, will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home. Dr. Steven Anthony and Chaplain Johnny Cash will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am until time of the service. Burial will take place in Anniston Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Poore passed away at his home on Friday, January 27, 2023 surrounded by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herschel and Lorene Poore; daughter, Tonya Poore Hardy; and his brother, Herschel Poore, Jr.
He leaves behind his wife of 25 years, Rebecca Poore; children, Lisa Bowman (Jabo), Christie Hatz-Williamson (Josh), Ashley Cobb -Cotton (Jed); son in law, Eric Hardy; grandchildren, Jessica Angel (Brad), Blake Angel, and Lela Williamson; great grandchildren, Lilly Wethington and Kaylee Wethington; niece, Amy Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jama Thompson, Sonny Brown, Jabo Bowman, Jed Cotton, Josh Williamson, and Blake Angel. Honorary pallbearer will be Woody Brown.
Mr. Poore was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and loved the Lord. He graduated from Wellborn High School in 1967. He served his country faithfully in the United States Air Force. He was also a Vietnam Veteran serving from 1967 – 1968. He retired from Alabama Power after 38 ½ years. He was a people person and never met a stranger. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will forever be missed.
