In Loving Memory of Jesse Blain Taylor
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jesse Blain Taylor, who left us on May 9, 2025, surrounded by family.
Born on May 24, 1953, in Nephi, UT, to Roy B. Taylor and Orpha Blain Taylor, who will both be waiting to welcome Jesse in the next life with open arms. He was preceded in death by his parents; three siblings, Jean Marie, Lillian, and John; one daughter, Kiera; and his favorite dog, BB. He is survived by his siblings, Blain, Rex, Don, and Katherine; his wife, Cyndi; his children, Brandi (Scott), Stacey (Chris), Carissa (Chad), Cameron (Kate), and Kendell (Lisa); and 15 grandchildren.
Jesse lived a life full of joy and humor. He was an active member in his Church with many teaching positions, and even served in the nursery as a "bouncer". He was a cherished spouse to Cyndi Johnson Taylor, with whom he shared many wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life rich in love and memories, supporting each other through life's ups and downs.
Jesse's career was primarily split into two parts: his service in the United States Air Force and his work at Geneva Rock. In the Air Force, he worked in various roles, from recruitment to bomb disposal. His military career took him from the Middle East to the Philippines, and many countries in between (some of which he may not be allowed back into if his stories are to be believed!). During his second career driving a cement truck, he also became an accomplished carpenter in his spare time. Jesse loved building things, a passion that continued even after his retirement, despite his physical health limiting the frequency with which he could enjoy the pastime.
Jesse was first married to Debra Golding in 1973, with whom he had Brandi and Stacey. He later married Cyndi Johnson in 1992, and they were sealed in the Manti temple.
They spent the next three-plus decades together, which included raising two of Cyndi's four children.
Jesse loved sports, playing at a high level in his youth and watching them throughout his life. A frequent traveler, he visited many countries, first professionally during his military service and later with his family. Jesse loved grilling, camping, reading, foot-wedge golf, and anything that could be enjoyed with family. Decisively not a soccer fan, that would not stop him from leaping at the chance to enjoy an outing if it meant he could enjoy it with a loved one.
A remembrance of Jesse's life will be held on Thursday, May 15, at the LDS Church building at 2700 S. 304 E. SLC at 11am, where friends and family will gather to honor his memory and share stories of the wonderful times spent together. He loved to support his family in whatever they were doing. He was a loving husband, Dad, Papa, and friend.
