Jessica Mae Swenor, 43, of Winchendon MA, previously of Worcester, MA, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 26th after a prolonged illness.

She is survived by her mother, Sandra (McKenney) McKeon, and her husband Daniel of Winchendon, MA, her father, Clay Swenor and his wife Janice of Westminster, MA, her sister, Kerri (Swenor) Jones and her husband Jeffrey and their children Evelyn, Addison and Cameron of Wilton, NH and her partner, Shawn Griffin and a large extended family.

Jessica was born on January 20, 1981, in Framingham, MA. She was raised in Hopkinton, MA where she attended Hopkinton High School. After school she attended Rob Roy Academy in Worcester where she specialized in hair design, working in several local salons. She had a flair for color and was so proud of becoming an American Board-Certified Hair Colorist – one of only one thousand people in the country that holds this certification. Always finding her way, she also worked in admissions at Milford Hospital as well as a Certified Paraplanner for her stepmom Janice. Growing up she loved to dance, teaming up with her best friend Teresa for dance recitals, and spending time with her closest friends Teresa, Carrie-Lee, and Darcy.

Jes had a heart of gold, always concerned for others, especially when it came to her furry children, Lucy, Miles, Bonks, and Zoe (Zobo). As a child, Jes’ love for animals inspired her to become vegetarian, and loved to cook as she got older and could get more creative with ingredients. Jes was not one to venture out of her comfort zone and scared easily – but as an adult, she became a huge fan of horror movies, especially The Rocky Horror Picture Show – which required dressing up for the occasion each year when it came to a local theater. She was also a huge fan of Christopher Moore, collecting every book he published, including several signed editions, which speaks to her sense of humor – following the footsteps of her Uncle Grant and Uncle Neal. She was a “city mouse” to her sisters “country mouse” and enjoyed her time living and working in the Worcester area.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to the Pat Brody Shelter for Cats. Donations can be sent to PO Box 142, Lunenburg, MA 01462, or online at https://catsontheweb.org/online-donations/.
