Jessica Tinkey, a loving daughter, sister, prankster, and tireless advocate for those with special needs, earned her wings on October 7, 2025, to explore and travel the world through heaven's views.
Born on September 26, 1991, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Jessica was a lifelong resident of the area. She entered the world a minute before her twin brother, James A. Tinkey, forming the duo affectionately known as the "Jessie/James gang." She was a 2009 graduate of Loy Norrix High School.
Jessica’s true passion in life was helping others, particularly children and those with special needs. This passion was the core of her professional life, including her beloved work as an aide for students with special needs at WoodsEdge. She also cherished her time working with all the people at Continental Lanes.
A woman of many joys, Jessica loved reading, music, bowling, and sports. She was a lifelong prankster and a dedicated explorer, forever on the search for the perfect sunset. Above all, she treasured her friends and family, many of whom became lifelong companions. Her final message to all was simple: "Go play in the rain, chase and find the perfect sunset, and always be there for others."
Jessica is survived by her loving parents, Sharon Marvin and Richard Tinkey; her twin brother, James A. Tinkey; her half-sister, Melissa Peer; and her grandmother, Mary Tinkey. She is also survived by her aunt Sally (Floyd) Kantz, uncle Gary Marvin, uncle Ben Tinkey, and aunt Gloria (Dennis) Ingersoll.
She was preceded in death by her uncle Donald Tinkey, uncle Floyd Kantz, and David Tindle (a cherished neighbor, unadopted uncle, and friend), as well as many dear friends.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will not be a formal funeral service.
A Celebration of Jessica's Life is planned for Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Continental Lanes in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The family requests no flowers. If you wish to honor Jessica's memory, the family asks that donations be made to two organizations that represented her life's passions:

A place will be available to make these donations at the Celebration of Life.
