Funeral service for Jessica Walters, 42, of Balaton, will be Friday, February 16, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall. A livestream of the service will be available at https://livestream.funeralscreen.com/horvath-funeral-service/jessica-grace-walters/.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Private family interment will take place Saturday at St. Mary's in Tracy.

Jessica Grace Walters was born on July 23, 1981, to Lisa Buesing and Glenn Walters in Tracy, MN. She was raised in the country outside of Russell, MN, and attended school at RTR. She graduated from RTR High School in the spring of 2000. Upon graduation, Jessica stayed in Southwest Minnesota working different jobs.

She had her first child, a son Jayden on October 24, 2000. On January 24, 2011, Jessica had her daughter Jocelyn. Her children were the light of her life. She raised her family in Balaton, MN. Jessica liked to keep her family active. They could often be found at the YMCA or taking fishing trips. She would take her kids to Valley Fair during the summertime. A notable family vacation was when Jessica took her kids to Disney World in Orlando.

In 2004 Jessica’s brother David was involved in an accident that left him paralyzed. Jessica stepped up and became his primary care provider until his death in the fall of 2015. Like her care for her children, the care she took of her brother proved how much Jessica’s family meant to her.

Jessica passed away unexpectedly on February 12, 2024.

She is survived by her children Jayden Walters (Nadia Palmer), and Jocelyn Walters; parents Glenn Walters (Sara Simmons), and Lisa (Loren) DeMartelaere; grandchildren Sabella Walters, and Alayna Walters; many aunts, uncles, extended family, and friends.

Jessica is preceded in death by her brother David Walters; grandparents Von and Grace Buesing, Andrew and Jeanette Walters; and cousin Dana Ryther.
