Jesus G. “Chui”, Jaramillo, 89, beloved brother and uncle, peacefully returned to his heavenly home, early Monday morning, March 13, 2023. Chui was born February 21st, 1934 the son of Pedro and Santos (Gonzalez) Jaramillo. He was a graduate of Curtis Junior High and Topeka High School. He retired from Santa Fe as a welder/carman.
Chui was Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where he spent many early morning hours in Adoration with Our Lord. Chui was a Cursillista and Light of The World member.
Chui was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lee Jaramillo, and siblings, Rita Rivera, Cecilio Jaramillo, Julian Jaramillo, Guadalupe Jaramillo, and Beatrice King.
Chui leaves behind his loving siblings, John Jaramillo, Joe Jaramillo, and Maria Delores Ortiz; four God children, Felix, Mayela, Manny & LuLu, and great nephew T.J.; his loving caretakers, Tom Jaramillo, John Jaramillo Jr., Rita Ortiz, Alex & Andrea Valdez; and many nieces and nephews.
Chui was an avid bowler and participated in tournaments with his friends. He enjoyed sharing a good meal and a drink with friends and family. He loved taking a car ride or riding his bicycle through North Topeka. He would spend hours on his porch swing or sitting on his deck. Chui would host pay-per-view boxing parties and served his infamous burritos known as “Cloggers”. Chui brought joy and laughter to everyone who met him, and charmed them with the twinkle of his eyes, beautiful smile, and ornery personality. He was known to create home projects for nieces and nephews. He had a deep love for his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, they brought joy to his life. He will be dearly missed by his family.
Chui will lie in state on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M., followed by a parish rosary at 10:30 A.M., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M., at the church. Entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery - Holy Trinity Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be made to Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave. Topeka, KS 66603, to help with final expenses.

My uncle Chui was the consummate bachelor, though he did try his hand at marriage when he was a young man. But I always will remember him as the lone wolf living life on his own terms. I can still see that big smile and easy laugh that put you at ease. Rest in Peace Uncle Chui
