Jesse was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 12, 1957. He was a United States Army veteran, honorably serving in Germany until 1981. Jesse worked in maintenance at Ivy Tech. He was musically talented, enjoyed playing the harmonica, and played in many bands including 2 Miles Back. Jesse loved being outside riding his motorcycle, spending time in his garden, and kayaking. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends, watching sports, and making people laugh.
Jesse is survived by his son, Andrew "Drew" Zapien of Evansville, IN; sister, Veronica Iraizoz-Sanchez (Adrian); and by many nieces and nephews.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Luz (Torres) Iraizoz.
A celebration of Jesse's life will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor Stew Armstrong officiating. The Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites.
Friends may visit from 2:00 pm until service time on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Vanderburgh Humane Society, PO Box 6711, Evansville, IN 47719.

I'm sorry to have only recently learned of Jesse's passing. We worked together at Ivy Tech, shared a love of good music, travel and had several mutual friends. We've been Facebook friends the past 23 years since I moved away. I'll miss him.
